    UPDATE
    When: 11:00 – 12:00 on Wednesday, February 3rd
    Where: Caperton Center Auditorium

Have you given much thought yet to what you will do or where you will work once you graduate?

Career opportunities abound here in the Mid-Ohio Valley, with jobs ranging from the Federal Government and large healthcare providers, to Tier 1 and 2 network and technical support

On February 3rd, we will be hosting an event on campus featuring speakers from regional IT companies. They will discuss what options are available for you, and what skill sets you should develop in order to maximize your future in the IT field and in the region. At least one of these companies is looking to hire another technician in the immediate future. Of course, if you are interested in traveling, you could always consider going way down under for a job!

    From Doug Weaver
Over the years we have compiled some of the questions employers ask our teaching staff when a student applies for a job. You might be surprised.

Does this student arrive on time consistently?
Does the student show a good degree of professionalism in the classroom?
How does he or she get along with other students?
Does he or she show a high degree of initiative in learning new material?
Is he or she a team player?
Can he or she communicate well?
How does he or she relate to people with less expertise than him?
Does he or she give up easily?
How well can he or she adapt to new situations?
Is he or she self disciplined to complete a project?
Can the student figure things out on their own or do they need to be told everything? Are they a high maintenance person?
    Can they be trusted?
Are they a complainer or a problem solver?
Have you seen the student in a difficult situation and noticed how they resolved the problem?

CIT professor Doug Weaver will be presenting a lecture Monday at 11:00 AM in Room 2209 discussing the Democratic Republic of the Congo. Almost all the world’s Coltan, substance in all computer chips, is found in Congo. Congo is a country rich in mineral resources yet a country with serious problems affecting many other countries including the Unite States.
